This morning I woke up early.

He told me yes!

We had to return home and we arrived very wet.

Today the boys feel good, but yesterday they felt bad.

1.                  Words ending in a vowel, n, or s have the accent on the penultimate syllable.

señorita                         Carmen                    prepares

2.                  Words the end with a consonsant other than n or s are accented on the last syllable.

Señor                  calor                         Madrid                     universidad


3.                  Words that do not follow the rules above must have a written accent mark over the vowel in the stressed syllable.

Árbol                               pez                                    capitán

4.                  The written accent is also used to distinguish words that are spelled alike but that have different meanings:

you                          yes                       élhe
Tuyour                                    siif                           elthe
